Teachers use age-appropriate tools such as felt board stories, sign language and play props to promote learning. Children get to experience both one-on-one interactions as well as opportunities for social development. A typical day’s schedule includes circle, outdoor play, sensory activities, arts and crafts, music and movement, story time and a variety of other activities that will encourage your child’s flourishing mind.
The Infant and Toddler classrooms are a safe space specifically designed for the enjoyment of our youngest charges. They include a separate sleep room and age-appropriate materials and toys to promote cognitive and fine motor development.
Each day children will participate in our learning circle where our curriculum is delivered. The curriculum for infant and toddlers consists of three areas: Mindful Mondays, Journey of Discovery and World Explorers. Children will engage in interactive activities whilst learning about these areas during our learning circle and then have opportunities to further explore these domains through hands-on activities including science experiments, creative art, playing instruments and listening to audio books.

Our PKD curriculum builds upon the foundations that were taught in our IT program and the focus shifts to more complex concepts and fine motor skill development. A typical day will consist of large group learning in circle, small group learning at the teaching table and choice stations during learning centers. Children will have fun engaging in dramatic play, art and a range of building toys and team outdoor games.
These classrooms are functional spaces that meet the diverse needs of this program. Children choose from a variety of activities in the library, math and manipulatives, blocks, science and sensory, practical-life, and creative art areas. This program also provides outdoor playtime, individual and group activities, rest time, and story time.

Families are able apply to enroll their child in our JK1 program if their child is 30-months old AND will turn 3 years old by December 31st in the year in which they start. The registration window opens in March each year for September enrolment. Families are encouraged to book a family tour of our Centre and get onto the waitlist early.
JK is essentially a two-year program that runs from September to August and the curriculum content scaffolds from JK1 to JK2. For most children joining us in JK1, this will be their first time leaving the comfort and familiarity of their home, Teachers will take great care to ensure they are there to support and encourage the child and their family with this transition.
Over the first couple of months, the children will focus on learning classroom routines, managing transitions and developing their self-help skills. Children will enjoy speaking at circle time about familiar topics like family and pets and they will participate in lots of group activities and arts and crafts. As routines become more familiar, Teachers will delve further into our curriculum areas as a natural progression.
Our JK classrooms are set up just like a Kindergarten Classroom. Children will learn to manage their own belongings like back packs, outerwear and lunch kits. This is a fast-paced program as it includes all of the same curriculum areas as PKD but the programming is condensed into a shorter day.
Children will enjoy active outdoor play and be taught new concepts at Learning Circle every day. They will also participate in small group lessons at the teaching table and practice new skills whilst completing worksheets, math activities and printing workbooks. Children will have many opportunities for developing new friendships during our learning centers as they will chose from a variety of activities such as blocks, cars, trains, practical-life, sensory and dramatic play. Our classroom also has fun housekeeping and reading areas for those children that enjoy a little quiet time with a book.
