At Junior Scholars, we have a fully-equipped, gourmet kitchen with a talented chef who prepares fresh, healthy, home-style meals and snacks for the children in our full-time programs everyday.
Our Infant & Toddler and Pre-K Daycare programs include a morning and afternoon snack, which is always served alongside fresh fruit and our lunches are prepared daily using fresh and nutritious ingredients. Lunches are always served with either salad or vegetables. Our menu has been designed specifically for children and exceeds the Canada Food Guide.
We all sit together for our snacks and meals – teachers model table manners and by siting together in a group children see others eating the healthy meals and are likely to try new items too.
Children are encouraged to feed themselves and this enhances both their self-help and fine motor skills.
Parents are required to prepare healthy and nut free snacks and/or lunch for children in our Junior Kindergarten and School Age programs.
